Café Tibet
An authentic piece of Tibet in the Czech Republic
Café Tibet is a project created by Sonam Tsering – Ngor Khangsar Shabdrung Rimpoche, a Tibetan who has been living in the Czech Republic since 2002. Sonam is a high lama and reincarnation of an important teacher of Sakya School of Tibetan Buddhism, who studied and grew up in a Tibetan Buddhist monastery in India and was recognized as reincarnation by His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the age of 5.
Café Tibet was established in February 2019 as a pop-up and participated various events, markets and festivals with Tibetan food and gave talks and lectures about Tibet, Tibetan culture and Tibetan Buddhism.
In August 2022 Sonam Rimpoche established a center of Tibetan buddhism of Sakya tradition Phuntsok Choeling Czech Republic, in Prague, where he is teaching Tibetan buddhism to his students.
